Koelsat is operating in the cable TV market for more than 20 years and more than 10 years with DVB CAS. In 2007 Koelsat established a BestCAS company, offering CAS product – the worldwide solution of Digital Content Protection Services for PayTV operators. The CAS high level of security was audited and proven by Farncombe UK – a Cartesian company in 2015.
Koelsat covering ¼ of the Bulgarian cable TV market with great reach and operation in the neighbour Balkan countries. Company’s primary work with small and middle size operators, offering flexible price and technology solutions.

Smartivus was selected by Koelsat to develop the complete firmware for the hybrid set-top box and integrate with Smartivus OTT platform as well as BestCAS conditional access system.
Smartivus have selected the best-fitted hardware platform, which was powered by HiSilicon chipset. Our experts have designed consumer-centric, easy to use UI (user interface). We developed the state of art firmware for hybrid (OTT+DVB-C) set-top box (STB) with the automatic upgrade system, with built-in catch-up and time-shift features, EPG, OTT analytics module. The system has been developed to work smoothly, in the “plug and play” style, with Smartivus OTT platform. BesCAS advanced CAS solution was integrated to protect the content and STB.
